Diabolix is one of the first pieces of the F.F.F.collection, started as a workshop called “the object-toy”, launched by Alessi in the ‘90. This little smiling devil is a result of our reflection concerning Franco Fornari’s theory of affective codes.
It’s true that objects must do things, this is its “objective” criterion that justifies their existence and usefulness. But in addition to that there exists certainly an other dimension, something which satisfys our most delicate, intimate and affectiive demands.
Diabolix is selected into the permanent collection of the Museum für Angewandte Kunst, Frankfurt,(D)
2 d 4 – TO DIE FOR - 1995
This tray and its placemat in printed polyurethane is part of an all female design collection: 8 women have been invited to design their placemat. “2d4” was ispired by the upcoming popularity of internet, chats and related chat language.
PIATTO FAX - 1995
A collection which counts about a 100 plates and found his origin in the trasmission via fax. This upcoming technology and its related inperfections was the basic idea of “piatto fax”. The colours has been added as a further interpretation.
